Breckenridge’s interconnected trail system offers countless miles of trails to be explored on Nordic skis, touring skis, or snowshoes. The two Nordic centers within Breckenridge, Gold Run Nordic Center & Breckenridge Nordic Center, contain over 30 miles of perfectly manicured trails.
Dog Sledding
Looking to try something new? Mush your own team of Siberian Huskies through the Rocky Mountains! Good Times Adventures offers an unforgettable experience which will take you on a six mile tour along the gorgeous winding trails of the Swan River Valley.
Fat Biking
Fat Biking is a new and fun way to explore the trails or cruise down Main Street. Sign up for a fat bike distillery and brewery tour which takes you to the world’s highest distillery and one of Breckenridge’s favorite breweries.
Sleigh Rides
Experience one of the most nostalgic ways to “dash through the snow.” From scenic sleigh rides, to dinner sleigh rides with a show, you have plenty of options for a fun family experience.
Scenic Snow Cat Tours
The Breckenridge Nordic Center offers guided scenic tours from the comfort of a heated snowcat. The tours take you through forested trails to a historic mining cabin where you can indulge in hot cocoa and s’mores while hearing tales of Breckenridge’s mining families.

Skiing/Snowboarding
The best skiing all season occurs in March and April. March is the snowiest month of the year, which means conditions are great. Yet the weather is warmer than you’ll find in December and January. Snow conditions this time of year are soft and forgiving, which makes it more fun for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.

When you’re done hitting the slopes for the day and ready to wind down, there’s nothing better than indulging in a local brew at the original Breckenridge Brewery or the Broken Compass Brewery.

Hiking
Hiking is one of the most popular Summer activities in Breckenridge. With gorgeous mountain views, alpine lakes, and wildflowers galore, Breckenridge is most certainly a hiker’s dream.
Biking
Breckenridge is a popular destination for bikers of all kinds—from road bikers to mountain bikers, and everything in between. Breckenridge boasts endless trails and paths for bikers of all abilities. All types and sizes of bicycles can be rented at numerous locations for self-guided bike tours, custom trips, Vail pass excursions, and beer and distillery bike tours.
Whitewater Rafting
Some of America’s best whitewater rafting is located just a short drive from Breckenridge. Whitewater rafting is available late spring through the fall, with numerous options for rafting, including the Arkansas River, Eagle River, and Blue River.
Fly Fishing
While you can fly fish year round in Breckenridge, there’s nothing like a warm, sunny day on the river. Rent some gear and take a lesson or tour with one of the many local fly fishing shops around town. Catch Colorado’s state fish, the Cutthroat Trout, at Lower Mohawk Lake or along the Blue River.

Every summer, Breckenridge is filled with live music thanks to Breckenridge’s many festivals, Breck Music, concerts at the Riverwalk Center, the National Repertory Orchestra, and a lively bar scene.
Golfing
Breckenridge is home to one of the few Jack Nicklaus designed municipal golf courses in the world—a 27 hole course complete with a driving range, practice putting green, and a clubhouse. Be treated to breathtaking views as you take a swing.
Horseback Riding
Horseback riding is a great activity for everyone. Breckenridge offers a variety of riding options for riders of all experience levels. Choose from an easy trail ride with great views of forests and open ranges, or test your skills at a cattle drive or open range excursion. Lessons are also available.

Leaf Peeping
Due to the high elevation, Breckenridge is one of the first places in the country where the leaves begin to change color. September is peak time for leaf peeping. Take a scenic drive or embark on a colorful autumn hike through the groves of changing aspens.
Wildlife Photography
Breckenridge’s extraordinary scenery and wildlife are endless, no matter the month. But the vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges of the fall create an especially dramatic background. September-October also marks the rut, or breeding season for moose. During this time, moose are especially active, making for great wildlife photography opportunities.
Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest in Breckenridge, also known as Brecktoberfest, is the largest beer festival in the Colorado mountains. This fun filled weekend includes a family fair, German themed beer, wine, food, live music, crafts, and more.
ATV Rentals
The Colorado wilderness has so much to see and offer, but most is not accessible by your average vehicle. By renting an ATV, you’ll be able to go where you want, when you want. Traverse the Rocky Mountain peaks and explore the colorful tree lines.
